Vicki Turner, Chair
Vicki Turner is the owner of Turner Design Concepts and she resides in Fayetteville, Georgia.
For 26 years, Vicki was the creative side of AIS Computers, where she designed all company ads, planned marketing events, coordinated joint marketing and educational events with Apple Computer, and was the community outreach liaison for the Company.
Vicki has a strong heart for serving others. She has been an active volunteer in the community for over 30 years and currently serves on the following boards: Piedmont Healthcare Foundation Board, Fayette Fire Foundation (Board Chair), Metro Fayette Kiwanis Club, and Fayetteville Main Street. Vicki is also a member of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, The Society of Fine Art of Fayette, and Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. She has given an invaluable amount of time to serving on the Boards of Piedmont Fayette Hospital, the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, Fayette Senior Services, and The Business Women of Fayette and Coweta. She has worked with Christian City for 10 years on their Charity committee, serving as an artist and a host. She served as a committee member for 4 years for the Southern Credit Union Cancer Wellness Walk that raised money for Piedmont Fayette and Newnan Hospital. Her volunteer contributions continue with serving on the City of Fayetteville’s Art and Architectural Advisory Committee, the Fayette County Public Arts Committee, and at the Chamber she is currently serving as an Ambassador and is a member of the Government Affairs Committee. Past volunteer commitments include being the Fayette Chamber of Commerce Board Chair (2004), serving 9 years on the Board and received several service awards including: Business Person of the Year (2006), Dream Builders Award (2005), Chet Wells Award (2001), and Ambassador of the Year (1997).
Continuous learning is very important to Vicki and she continues to take art classes and learn new techniques to expand her creativity. Over the years Vicki has displayed her paintings in local banks, bookstores, and galleries in Georgia and Tennessee. She enjoys painting in oils, acrylics, and watercolor. Her paintings are known for her great attention to detail.
Among her many accolades, in 2007, Vicki was on the cover of the April edition of Fayette Woman Magazine, where her art was featured. In 2008, Congressman Lynn Westmoreland chose Vicki to paint a Christmas tree ornament for the White House’s “State” tree in Washington D.C. and Vicki traveled to Washington for the special artist reception hosted by First Lady Laura Bush at the White House. In April 2009, Vicki’s “Blue Ribbon” painting of the oldest Courthouse in the State of Georgia is featured on the front of the 2010 Fayette County Chamber of Commerce History Book. Vicki designed the T-shirt for the Peachtree City International Festival & Rotary Dragon Boat Races in 2013. Her creative inspiration led her to design the Fayetteville Main Street Christmas Ornament in 2014, and in 2015 she created the Fayette Fire Foundation logo and the Southern Crescent Tennis Association logo.
Mike Hofrichter, Vice-Chair
Mike Hofrichter has practiced law in Fayette County since 1993. He has also served the community as Chair of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, President of the Fayette County Bar Association, President of the Metro Fayette Kiwanis Club, Board Member of the Fayette Community Foundation and Board Member of Main Street Fayetteville. He and his family are members of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church and are active in youth sports programs.
Melanie Myer, Treasurer
Ms. Myer and husband Steve moved to Fayette County 16 years ago in order to enhance the education of their four children. Ms. Myer has been a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church where she serves as Chair of the Finance Committee.
Ms. Myer studied accounting at Georgia State University and worked for Robinson Humphrey in the Research Department prior to the arrival of her children. Ms. Myer then pursued a career with the Delta Community Credit Union and has served in various capacities and is currently the manager of the Fayetteville branch. Ms. Myer has a passion for building relationships within the community and has served on the Fayette Chamber of Commerce Board for seven years and as Chairman of the Board in 2011. Ms. Myers proudly serves as the Treasurer of the Fayette Fire Foundation.
Sharron Singletary, Secretary
Sharron Singletary’s current occupation is Office Manager at G+Z Machine Services located in Fayetteville, Georgia. G+Z Machine Services is an international company that installs, dismantles and relocates industrial printing and packaging machines of all types worldwide. In addition to installations and relocations of printing and packaging machines, the company also offers repair services and maintenance programs maximizing top performance for the machines they service.
G+Z Machine Services headquarters, is located in Castrop-Rauxel, Germany and Sharron serves as their U. S. representative and liaison. Job duties include establishing logistic operations for vendor contracts for heavy equipment, setting up transport arrangements for transporting machine equipment and parts, company tools and supplies to a customer’s jobsite. Sharron also handles travel arrangements for incoming employees that include hotel accommodations and car rental arrangements arriving from Germany to name a few of her duties.
Prior to G+Z Machine Services, Sharron served as general manager of Executive Suites at Aberdeen Corner, a facility offering everything from answering services to desktop publishing to executive office spaces for lease and more, Sharron spent each and every day helping local small business owners grow and expand their business.
Sharron began her career in the travel industry, where she gained extensive customer service experience, and eventually retired from Northwest Airlines and BTI Americas Travel. She then owned a childcare facility for four years, which helped her understand the needs and struggles of small business owners.
“Sharron really enjoys working locally,” she says. “I’ve been able to form so many great relationships through the Chamber, other organizations, and by meeting small business owners over the years.”
Sharron is also active in community service. She’s served on the board of the Fayette Youth Protection Homes, now Bloom, has co-chaired several committees with the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce and at her church, and is one of the founding members of the Summer Lunch Program, now operated by Action Ministry.
Brent Scarbrough founded Brent Scarbrough & Company in 1985 while he was in his junior year of college at Southern Polytechnic State University. Brent specialized in erosion control and silt fence installation while he transitiond from college back to his hometown of Fayetteville, GA., where the home office is today. In 1988, Brent started in the underground utilities industry where he has guided the company to become the most recognized and preferred turnkey utility contractor in the Southeast today.
Chris Hernandez owns the Chris Hernandez State Farm Agency in Fayetteville, GA and specializes in Risk Management and Wealth Accumulation & Preservation. He received his degree from St. Petersburg College and has over 20 years’ experience in the Insurance and Financial Services industry. Before becoming a Financial Services professional he served in the United States Marine Corps. One of his primary passions is preparing and mentoring others to become successful business owners in our community. He is married to Danielle and has 2 children Zoe and Christian.
J. Michael Burnett
J. Michael Burnett joined Piedmont Atlanta Hospital as an administrative resident in 1996 and worked as operations director of the Fuqua Heart Center of Atlanta at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital from December 1996-98. Subsequently, he joined the Emory Clinic as senior financial analyst but returned to Piedmont as director of management support in 1999.
In 2001, he assumed the role of vice president of clinical services at Piedmont Fayette Hospital and in 2008 was named as Piedmont Fayette’s chief operating officer. He subsequently held the position of Chief Administrative Officer and in 2014 was named as Piedmont Fayette’s Chief Executive Officer.
During his tenure with Piedmont Fayette Hospital he has been instrumental in the growth of the hospital adding interventional and therapeutic cardiac catheterization services, obstetrics, a cancer center and numerous facility expansions. As a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, he received the Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award in 2004. The Immediate Past Chairman for the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, Burnett and his wife Amy live in Fayetteville with their three children Michael, Grace, and Henry.
Donna has been a registered nurse for 26 years. She has experience in emergency and trauma services and in the Cardiac Cath lab and GI lab. Currently, she works for Piedmont Healthcare as a Quality Specialist. Donna has been a citizen in Fayette County for 21 years and is the mother of two.
Donna currently resides on the Fayette County Youth Soccer League Board of Directors and has served for the past 14 years. She previously coached for FCYSL 20 years. She previously played with the Georgia Women’s Soccer Association Amateur Division, and was a member for the Georgia State Soccer D & P Committee. She also previously worked as the field coordinator/assignor for FCYSL. Donna Heard Currently holds a US Soccer Federation “E” Coaching License.
Charley English served nine years as director of the Georgia Emergency Management Agency from 2006 until January 2015. He began his career there in 1996 and during his tenure had leadership roles in the security planning for the Centennial Olympic Games, the Group of Eight Summit (G8) and led the state’s response to sixteen (16) presidentially declared disasters and numerous states of emergency declared by the Governor. His career in public safety spans 37 years and has included service in the judicial system and law enforcement.
He was elected President of the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA) 2013-14 and served two terms on the executive board of National Governor’s Association’s Homeland Security Advisors Council.
He is a graduate of Clayton State University, Georgia State University and was conferred his Master’s Degree in Homeland Security and Defense from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2004, the first class of graduate degrees in Homeland Security in our nation’s history and was named the Professor Phillip Zimbardo award recipient.
He is an active member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church and has served as Chairman of the Benevolence Committee and Chairman of Deacons.
Geneva Weaver is the Publisher of the Fayette County News. She is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the oldest running newspaper in Fayette County along with several other profitable publications in Fayette County and the Greater Atlanta Area. Mrs. Weaver’s broad range of duties include effectively managing full operational responsibility over multiple large-scale publications including budgeting, administration, P&L performance, staff planning and leadership, sales, marketing, circulation and collections while directing a team of employees to achieve the goals of the Fayette County Newspaper and serve the greater Fayette community.
Under Mrs. Weaver’s astute guidance, the Fayette County News has developed marketing partnerships with many local businesses allowing for an operational streamlining of personnel costs and establishing reciprocity agreements with sister newspapers throughout Georgia and the Southeast resulting in a substantial reduction in personnel and advertising costs. Mrs. Weaver also proudly assisted in the creation of the successful niche publication, Marquis magazine resulting in a 25% spike in profit and spearheaded successful cooperative ventures with local small businesses which further strengthened relationships between the newspaper and community through positive press and public relations.
Despite the tremendous amount of time and effort that Mrs. Weaver dedicates to her position as Publisher of the Fayette County Newspaper, she still finds time to give generously to the community through multiple charitable organizations. Mrs. Weaver is an active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church where she frequently participates in community outreach programs including lending her advanced organizational and management skills to the Church’s various charitable programs.
Geneva Weaver is the current President of the Kiwanis Club of Fayette County where she volunteers substantial time and effort to various community outreach and fundraising programs including serving as the chief organizer of the Fayette County Fair for over 5 years. Mrs. Weaver is also an active member of the Fayetteville Main Street Promotions Committee and Fayette Fire Foundation.
Geneva Weaver’s proudest achievements are her 31 year marriage to Fred Weaver and their two children, John and Margit “Maggie”. John is a Clayton County EMT and volunteers frequently at the local YMCA. Maggie is a student at Georgia State University. Mrs. Weaver thrives to instill in her family the same sense of civic duty and community involvement that plays such a major role in her life.
Brian Cooper has been in the Entertainment Industry for 9 years and joined the Pinewood Atlanta Team in June of 2013 as the VP of Operations. Previous to Pinewood, Brian worked with Paskal Lighting in Atlanta, Georgia.
Joe Hartley started with the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services in 2011. Joe is currently serving at Station 4 in Fayetteville, GA, as a Fire Apparatus Operator and Paramedic. Joe also serves on the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team as a SWAT Medic. Joe graduated from Southern Crescent Technical College with his degree in Paramedicine. Joe holds a part time position at Piedmont Fayette Hospital as an Emergency Department Paramedic. Joe is married and has three children. His two sons are members of a local soccer team and his daughter is active in horse back riding. Joe was raised in Fayetteville, GA, and lives in Fayetteville with his family.
As CEO of one of the nation’s largest family owned businesses, Chick-fil-A’s Dan Cathy represents the next generation of leadership for the Atlanta-based fast-food chicken restaurant chain founded by his father, S. Truett Cathy. Eager to incorporate his own skills and talents into the business, Dan has taken an unconventional, yet personally and professionally rewarding approach to Chick-fil-A leadership.
Dan was named Chairman, President and CEO, by his father in 2013. Since 2001, Dan has served as the president and chief operating officer of the 1,900-plus unit chain, but he also has personally challenged himself with upholding Chick-fil-A’s efforts to provide genuine, heartfelt hospitality, and ensuring that customers chain wide have an exceptional dining experience when visiting a Chick-fil-A restaurant. In his quest to provide customers with “second-mile” service (exceeding even the highest expectations of a typical fast-food restaurant), Dan has defined a special role for himself – humbly saying, “I work in customer service.”
Rather than leading from his corporate office in Atlanta, Dan chooses to spend the majority of his time traveling to the chain’s growing family of restaurants and interacting with Chick-fil-A’s committed team of restaurant Operators and team members. His actions stem from a belief that working in the field provides a clearer understanding of the ever evolving wants and needs of Chick-fil-A customers, and leading from the front line also enables him to personally convey his servant spirit to the chain’s 70,000-plus employees.
The majority of his travels include participating in grand opening ceremonies for new Chick-fil-A restaurants. In yet another example of how he keeps in tune with customers and employees, Dan attended numerous restaurant openings last year, spending the night in restaurant parking lots along with hundreds of customers who were vying for a chance to win free Chick-fil-A food for a year as part of a special customer-focused promotion the chain conducts in conjunction with new restaurant openings. Reflecting on these experiences, Dan notes, “I’m having the most fun I have ever had at Chick-fil-A.”
Several major marketplace awards have affirmed the commitment and performance of Chick-fil-A Operators and team members. Chick-fil-A was recognized in 2015 with the “Consumer’s Choice Award” for pleasant and friendly service by Technomic’s survey of 85,000 consumers and leader of the fast food industry in Temkin’s 2015 Customer Experience Survey. In the 2014 Glassdoor Employee’s Choice Awards, Chick-fil-A ranked among the top 50 Best Places to Work in the nation. Forbes also ranked Chick-fil-A as the 4th most inspiring company in the country following a survey of more than 2,000 consumers evaluating 25 companies.
Dan’s career at Chick-fil-A began at age 9 as he sang songs for customers and did radio commercials for the chain’s original “Dwarf House” restaurant in Hapeville, Ga. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Georgia Southern University, Dan returned to Chick-fil-A where he served as director of operations – opening more than 50 new Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the country. As Chick-fil-A continued to grow, so did Dan’s responsibilities with the company. He has served as senior director of operations, vice president of operations and executive vice president prior to being named president and chief operating officer.

A native of Jonesboro, Ga., Dan has been married to the former Rhonda Palmer (whom he met while in the 1st grade at age 6) for more than 40 years. He has two sons, Andrew, Vice President of People at Chick-fil-A and Ross, Owner/Operator of the Midland, Ga., Chick-fil-A restaurant, as well as two grandchildren.
His personal passion is to see the fulfillment of the Chick-fil-A Corporate Purpose: “To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.”
