About Us

Board of Directors

The composition of the Officers and Board of Directors of the Foundation shall be consistent with the Bylaws of Fayette Fire Foundation, Inc. The Board of Directors will meet periodically and will discuss and vote on expenditures and projects that will enhance and improve the ability of the Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services, and its personnel, to provide fire and emergency medical services to the community and be consistent with Georgia and federal law nonprofit requirements. Decisions on expenditures and projects will be performed by vote by the Board of Directors as per the bylaws, and all meetings and decisions will be recorded by written minutes by the Secretary.

Financials

The Treasurer of the Foundation will be responsible for keeping an accurate accounting of all financial transactions conducted by the foundation. The foundation will accept donations from the public, individuals, and corporate sponsors. The Foundation will also conduct fundraising activities within the community. All fundraiser activities will be approved by the Board of Directors and the Department’s administration. All expended funds will be used in accordance with the stated purpose of the Foundation and will be approved by the Board of Directors by majority vote.

Initiatives and Programs

Develop special programs such as, but not limited to, community awareness, smoke detector giveaways and installations, fire safety education programs, and assist with the purchase of a new fire safety education home/mobile unit.

Meet Our Officers

Vicki Turner

CHAIR

  • Vicki Turner is the owner of Turner Design Concepts and she resides in Fayetteville, Georgia.

    For 26 years, Vicki was the creative side of AIS Computers, where she designed all company ads, planned marketing events, coordinated joint marketing and educational events with Apple Computer, and was the community outreach liaison for the Company.

    Vicki has a strong heart for serving others. She has been an active volunteer in the community for over 30 years and currently serves on the following boards: Piedmont Healthcare Foundation Board, Fayette Fire Foundation (Board Chair), Metro Fayette Kiwanis Club, and Fayetteville Main Street. Vicki is also a member of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, The Society of Fine Art of Fayette, and Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. She has given an invaluable amount of time to serving on the Boards of Piedmont Fayette Hospital, the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, Fayette Senior Services, and The Business Women of Fayette and Coweta. She has worked with Christian City for 10 years on their Charity committee, serving as an artist and a host. She served as a committee member for 4 years for the Southern Credit Union Cancer Wellness Walk that raised money for Piedmont Fayette and Newnan Hospital. Her volunteer contributions continue with serving on the City of Fayetteville’s Art and Architectural Advisory Committee, the Fayette County Public Arts Committee, and at the Chamber she is currently serving as an Ambassador and is a member of the Government Affairs Committee. Past volunteer commitments include being the Fayette Chamber of Commerce Board Chair (2004), serving 9 years on the Board and received several service awards including: Business Person of the Year (2006), Dream Builders Award (2005), Chet Wells Award (2001), and Ambassador of the Year (1997).

    Continuous learning is very important to Vicki and she continues to take art classes and learn new techniques to expand her creativity. Over the years Vicki has displayed her paintings in local banks, bookstores, and galleries in Georgia and Tennessee. She enjoys painting in oils, acrylics, and watercolor. Her paintings are known for her great attention to detail.

    Among her many accolades, in 2007, Vicki was on the cover of the April edition of Fayette Woman Magazine, where her art was featured. In 2008, Congressman Lynn Westmoreland chose Vicki to paint a Christmas tree ornament for the White House’s “State” tree in Washington D.C. and Vicki traveled to Washington for the special artist reception hosted by First Lady Laura Bush at the White House. In April 2009, Vicki’s “Blue Ribbon” painting of the oldest Courthouse in the State of Georgia is featured on the front of the 2010 Fayette County Chamber of Commerce History Book. Vicki designed the T-shirt for the Peachtree City International Festival & Rotary Dragon Boat Races in 2013. Her creative inspiration led her to design the Fayetteville Main Street Christmas Ornament in 2014, and in 2015 she created the Fayette Fire Foundation logo and the Southern Crescent Tennis Association logo.

Mike Hofrichter

VICE-CHAIR

  • Mike Hofrichter has practiced law in Fayette County since 1993. He has also served the community as Chair of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, President of the Fayette County Bar Association, President of the Metro Fayette Kiwanis Club, Board Member of the Fayette Community Foundation and Board Member of Main Street Fayetteville. He and his family are members of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church and are active in youth sports programs.

Melanie Myer

TREASURER

  • Ms. Myer and husband Steve moved to Fayette County 16 years ago in order to enhance the education of their four children. Ms. Myer has been a member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church where she serves as Chair of the Finance Committee.
    Ms. Myer studied accounting at Georgia State University and worked for Robinson Humphrey in the Research Department prior to the arrival of her children. Ms. Myer then pursued a career with the Delta Community Credit Union and has served in various capacities and is currently the manager of the Fayetteville branch. Ms. Myer has a passion for building relationships within the community and has served on the Fayette Chamber of Commerce Board for seven years and as Chairman of the Board in 2011. Ms. Myers proudly serves as the Treasurer of the Fayette Fire Foundation.

Sharron Singletary

SECRETARY

  • Sharron Singletary’s current occupation is Office Manager at G+Z Machine Services located in Fayetteville, Georgia. G+Z Machine Services is an international company that installs, dismantles and relocates industrial printing and packaging machines of all types worldwide. In addition to installations and relocations of printing and packaging machines, the company also offers repair services and maintenance programs maximizing top performance for the machines they service.

    G+Z Machine Services headquarters, is located in Castrop-Rauxel, Germany and Sharron serves as their U. S. representative and liaison. Job duties include establishing logistic operations for vendor contracts for heavy equipment, setting up transport arrangements for transporting machine equipment and parts, company tools and supplies to a customer’s jobsite. Sharron also handles travel arrangements for incoming employees that include hotel accommodations and car rental arrangements arriving from Germany to name a few of her duties.

    Prior to G+Z Machine Services, Sharron served as general manager of Executive Suites at Aberdeen Corner, a facility offering everything from answering services to desktop publishing to executive office spaces for lease and more, Sharron spent each and every day helping local small business owners grow and expand their business.

    Sharron began her career in the travel industry, where she gained extensive customer service experience, and eventually retired from Northwest Airlines and BTI Americas Travel. She then owned a childcare facility for four years, which helped her understand the needs and struggles of small business owners.

    “Sharron really enjoys working locally,” she says. “I’ve been able to form so many great relationships through the Chamber, other organizations, and by meeting small business owners over the years.”

    Sharron is also active in community service. She’s served on the board of the Fayette Youth Protection Homes, now Bloom, has co-chaired several committees with the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce and at her church, and is one of the founding members of the Summer Lunch Program, now operated by Action Ministry.

Brent Scarbrough

BOARD MEMBER

  • Brent Scarbrough founded Brent Scarbrough & Company in 1985 while he was in his junior year of college at Southern Polytechnic State University. Brent specialized in erosion control and silt fence installation while he transitioned from college back to his hometown of Fayetteville, GA., where the home office is today. In 1988, Brent started in the underground utilities industry where he has guided the company to become the most recognized and preferred turnkey utility contractor in the Southeast today.

Joe Domaleski

BOARD MEMBER

  • Joe Domaleski is the owner of Country Fried Creative (AIS Solutions Group,LLC). Located in Peachtree City, Georgia, his firm is the area’s largest digital marketing firm specializing in website design, development, and online marketing.

    During his 30-year career, he has held various management positions specializing in the marketing technology sector. His career has included time with his own business and several others including: AIS Computers, Southside Consulting, CD Group, IBM, Henry County Board of Commissioners, NFCS, and MassMutual insurance. He is an Army veteran and proudly served during Desert Storm.

    Joe is very involved in the local community having served in various capacities for such great organizations as the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce (2010 Board Chair), Peachtree City Rotary Club (past board member), Southern Conservation Trust (race director), FireChaplain.org (board member), Peachtree City CERT, Fayette County Amateur Radio Club (past President), Peachtree City Running Club (webmaster), Tri-PTC Triathlon Club (founding director), Fayette YMCA (former board member), Whitewater High School Football (treasurer, board member, game announcer), WHS Lacrosse (past President), WHS PTSO, and many others. In 2018 he was recognized as the Fayette Chamber Outstanding Business Person of the Year, the Chamber’s highest honor.

    Joe has an active interest in emergency preparedness and helping our first responders. He is a trained Skywarn weather spotter, licensed amateur radio operator (Extra Class – KI4ASK), and has completed FEMA emergency management courses. Joe has also completed the Fayette County Citizen’s Fire Academy (2018), Fayetteville Citizen’s Police Academy (2019), and Peachtree CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training. He regularly serves as a volunteer communicator at special events, including the Peachtree Road Race.

    Joe received a dual bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science from North Georgia College in 1989. He obtained an MBA in finance from the Georgia State University College of Business Administration in 1993. He was also a Commissioned Officer in the US Army Infantry, having served in both active and reserve status.

    In the spare time that he doesn’t have, Joe enjoys trail running and the great outdoors. He is a former age-group competitive athlete and has completed a number of endurance events including two 11-hour Ironman triathlons, the Boston Marathon, and too many other events to list. He was a 2003 runner-up for the Atlanta Amateur Athlete of the Year. He and his wife Mary Catherine were also honored as 2015 inductees to the New Hope Baptist Church Sports Hall-of-Fame for their work helping the community get in shape.

    Joe is married to Mary Catherine (Mercer) who grew up in Fayette County and lured him away from Gwinnett County. Joe and Mary Catherine have been married for 25 years and have three grown children. They reside in Fayetteville and attend Rolling Hills Baptist Church.

Geneva Weaver

BOARD MEMBER

  • Geneva Weaver presently holds the position of Executive Director of the Fayette Care Clinic. Fayette Care Clinic offers free quality health care for the uninsured, lower-income residents of our community. The clinic provides telehealth, remote monitoring of patient’s health and continuing education programs improving the health and well-being of Fayette County. As Executive Director she is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the clinic. Mrs. Weaver is responsible for the marketing of the clinic and obtaining the much needed funding to continue the success of the clinic.

    Geneva Weaver is the former owner and Publisher of the Fayette County News. She was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the oldest running newspaper in Fayette County along with several other profitable publications in Fayette County and the Greater Atlanta Area. Mrs. Weaver’s broad range of duties include effectively managing full operational responsibility over multiple large-scale publications including budgeting, administration, P&L performance, staff planning and leadership, sales, marketing, circulation and collections while directing a team of employees to achieve the goals of the Fayette County Newspaper and serve the greater Fayette community.

    Under Mrs. Weaver’s astute guidance, the Fayette County News has developed marketing partnerships with many local businesses allowing for an operational streamlining of personnel costs and establishing reciprocity agreements with sister newspapers throughout Georgia and the Southeast resulting in a substantial reduction in personnel and advertising costs. Mrs. Weaver also proudly assisted in the creation of the successful niche publication, Marquis magazine resulting in a 25% spike in profit and spearheaded successful cooperative ventures with local small businesses which further strengthened relationships between the newspaper and community through positive press and public relations.

    Despite the tremendous amount of time and effort that Mrs. Weaver dedicates to her position as Publisher of the Fayette County Newspaper, she still found time to give generously to the community through multiple charitable organizations. Mrs. Weaver is an active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church where she participates in community outreach programs including lending her advanced organizational and management skills to the Church’s various charitable programs.

    Geneva Weaver is the current Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Fayette County where she volunteers substantial time and effort to various community outreach and fundraising programs including serving as the chief organizer of the Fayette County Fair for over 5 years. Mrs. Weaver is also an active member of the Fayette Fire Foundation.

    Geneva Weaver’s proudest achievements are her 38 year marriage to Fred Weaver and their two children, John and Margit “Maggie”. John is a Clayton County Paramedic and holds a degree in Homeland Security. Maggie is a graduate of Georgia State University holds a position as account manager with Brown Logistics. Mrs. Weaver thrives to instill in her family the same sense of civic duty and community involvement that plays such a major role in her life.

Jeff Holt

BOARD MEMBER

  • Jeff represents privately held businesses and their owners in a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters. His practice focuses on business entity formation, capitalization, and maintenance, general corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, contract drafting and negotiation, permits, licensing, and other regulatory matters, and employment-related issues (including non-compete and other restrictive covenant agreements). Jeff has counseled businesses in all phases of the business life cycle—from start-up to sale—in negotiating contracts and agreements in the corporate, lending, commercial real estate, and private investment contexts.

    Jeff’s practice also focuses on landlord-tenant issues, non-profit formation and governance, estate planning and probate matters, and general business disputes.

    Jeff grew up in Fayette County and is a 2001 graduate of Fayette County High School. He attended Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia, where he studied business and accounting and was a member of the men’s golf team. After college, Jeff worked as the Executive Director of the Atlanta Junior Golf Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit junior golf organization that is now part of the Georgia State Golf Association.

    Following five years working in the golf business, Jeff attended the Georgia State University College of Law. He was the business editor of the Georgia State University Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board. Jeff has published scholarly articles on a variety of legal issues, including admiralty law, state education law, and constitutional interpretation.

    After practicing law at a large regional law firm in Atlanta for several years, Jeff served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable R. Lanier Anderson III on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Jeff is pleased to be a partner with Lindsey & Lacy, PC.

    Jeff lives in Fayette County with his wife, Lana, and their three children. He enjoys playing golf, hiking, reading history books, and spending time with his family. He serves on the Board of the Federal Defender Program, the Fayette Fire Foundation. Jeff is also the Fire Foundation’s Committee Chair for the American Junior Golf Association Classic, a national junior golf tournament held at Whitewater Creek Country Club in Fayetteville.

Joe Hartley

NON-VOTING FIRE BOARD MEMBER

  • Joe Hartley started with the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services in 2011. Joe is currently serving at Station 4 in Fayetteville, GA, as a Fire Apparatus Operator and Paramedic. Joe also serves on the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team as a SWAT Medic. Joe graduated from Southern Crescent Technical College with his degree in Paramedicine. Joe holds a part time position at Piedmont Fayette Hospital as an Emergency Department Paramedic. Joe is married and has three children. His two sons are members of a local soccer team and his daughter is active in horse back riding. Joe was raised in Fayetteville, GA, and lives in Fayetteville with his family.

Pete Nelms

BOARD MEMBER

  • Pete Nelms is a 28-year veteran of the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services. During his tenure he served in many capacities with increasing roles and responsibilities Mr. Nelms retired from the department in 2016 as a Division Chief and Director of Emergency Management. Before his retirement he approached the Chief of the Department about creating a foundation that would enhance the departments fire and emergency medical services. In 2014 the Fayette Fire Foundation was created. Mr. Nelms continues to be an active member and advocate of the Foundation Board. He also serves on several other community boards that support the citizens of Fayette County. He enjoys travel and outdoor recreational activities.

Carrie Bittinger Giunta

BOARD MEMBER

  • Carrie Bittinger Giunta is the Events Manager at the Fayette Chamber of Commerce. Her career has been focused on planning upscale events such as weddings, large fundraisers, and award celebrations. She attended Southern Polytechnic State University and graduated after the merge with Kennesaw State University with a degree in Apparel Textile Technology through the school of engineering, with a minor in Business Administration. While attending university, she helped to launch the schools Fashion and Design Students (FADS) club, becoming club president by her senior year and during that year planned the first annual FADS Fashion Show.

    After spending time working in retail and wedding planning, her passion for people brought her to Fayette Senior Services where she started her career working with non-profit organizations. While her role there was widespread, the most rewarding part was her position was working with the Fayette County Meals on Wheels program which helps to bring meals to homebound senior citizens. While the work was rewarding, Carrie joined the Fayette Chamber of Commerce in 2022. Since joining the Chamber team, she has planned all the large fundraising events, including the Business on the Green Golf Tournament and the Cornhole Tournament, and planned many monthly events such as Network @ Noon and the Women’s Network. Carrie leads the Non-Profit Council and the Young Professionals Committee and had an integral part of relaunching both in 2023.

    While non-profit work is not where she saw her career initially, the years that she has spent in non-profits have been rewarding. Her passion for helping people has translated into the work she has done. Whether it is helping senior citizens or helping local businesses thrive, Carrie is passionate about helping to grow her community.
